This is a Yutaka-Midori cultivar blend of Kabuse Sencha. Kabuse farming method involves covering the tea plants for the final 7 to 10 days prior to harvesting. The covering of the plants avoids direct sunlight and thus reduces the amounts of photosynthesis which makes for a sweet umami-rich taste.
