What is GYOKURO tea?
Gyokuro differs from typical green tea known as Sencha. Gyokuro is grown under the shade approximately three to four weeks rather than the full sun(Sencha). Shading process defines the character of the tea by reducing the photosynthesis, increasing the chlorophyll content, turns the leaves a darker shade of green and make the resulting tea sweeter.

What is GYOKURO part 2?
Traditional Gyokuro brewing method is different from typical Japanese Teas; uses more tea leaves with lower tempuratured, less amount of hot water, however we pleasantly surprised to learn that many of our customers brew almost the same way as Sencha or some time mix Gyokuro tea to make their original blend. The regions with the best reputation for making the highest quality Gyokuro are Hoshinomura, Yame in Fukuoka, Okabe in Shizuoka and Uji in Kyoto.
