Matcha is the type of tea that is used in the tea ceremony. It is made by stone grinding the dried tea leaves called "Tencha" to a fine powder. Tencha is made in the same way as gyokuro, but by drying without rolling.

COMMENTS

You need one tea spoon (2gms) of matcha powder for 80ml to 100ml of hot water. Simply whisk the mixture with a chasen (a bamboo whisk) to frothy. You dont need to be a Japanese tea master to make a frothy bowl of matcha tea. It becomes easier after a few tries.
