I'm not familiar with green tea. Which teas do you recommend??
Japanese teas can be classified into Sencha, Gyokuro, and Matcha, in terms of flavor
and processing methods.
Sencha is perhaps the most commonly consumed green tea.
Gyokuro is the superb grade that is considered a luxury tea, and Matcha is used at tea ceremony.
The brewing method and the way people enjoy Gyokuro and Matcha are so different from ordinary
Sencha, so they may not be recommended to people who are not familiar with Japanese green tea.
There are also Kukicha, Mecha, Konacha and Aracha, but their flavours are all similar to Sencha.
Just as leaves become Sencha, stems become Kuki(stem)cha, buds become Me(buds)cha,
the powders and small pieces that are left out from the grading process become Kona(powder)cha, and unsorted whole teas become
Aracha. All these teas have slightly different flavours depending of the
parts of teas used, but the taste is more or less similar.
Flavorful Genmai-Matcha which is Sencha mixed with popped premium brown rice (our product also
contains Matcha powder which adds rich colour and flavor) is also a great
choice for after meal. Nutty Houjicha which is made by roasting tea leaves
at the end of tea-making process is another option for the evening, because
of low caffeine and tannin content.
If you are not familiar with green tea, look for "Tea-chan" symbol at product details section.
"Tea-chan" tells you if the product is basic, but tasty.
